LEHIGH COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Robert and Mary O’Rourke, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, have been identified as the victims in a fatal Sunday afternoon motorcycle collision in Lehigh County.
Robert, 55 and Mary 54, were both killed in a motorcycle crash involving a FedEx truck in North Whitehall Township on Sunday.
According to reports, Robert was operating a motorcycle, with Mary as his passenger, on PA-145 near Clearview Road in North Whitehall Township, when the bike came into contact with a FedEx Freightliner truck operated by 22-year-old Devon Lindeman, of Freemansburg.
The FedEx truck then made contact with a guardrail and wrecked into an embankment – Landing on top of the motorcycle.
The couple was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Lindeman, who was cited at the scene for driving on roadways laned for traffic, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
