BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Devon Sample has been identified as the suspect arrested in the killing of a full-term pregnant woman and her 3-year-old daughter in Baltimore on Friday.
Shiand Miller, and her daughter Shaniya Gilmore, of Windsor Mill, were found inside a vehicle suffering from fatal gunshot wounds in the 200 block of Boswell Road in Baltimore on Friday afternoon.
Sample, 23, was taken into custody in the 4800 block of Melbourne Road on Saturday. He has been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Miller and her toddler, Shaniya Gilmore.
According to officials, Sample was the father of Miller’s unborn child.
A motive in the shooting was not provided by police.
The deadly incident remains under investigation.
