HUDSON COUNTY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Illich Vladimir Ferrera, of Hackensack, New Jersey, has been identified as the victim in a motorcycle crash in Hudson County on Friday night.

Ferrera, 43, was killed in a single-motorcycle crash near Jersey City on Friday night.

According to officials, Ferrera was operating a motorcycle on Paterson Plank Road near Congress Street in Jersey City, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 11 p.m. Friday. The motorcycle then made contact with a wall.

Ferrera was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Officials say, Ferrera may have swerved to avoid a slower moving older style van. The vehicle may have been dark red, burgundy or maroon in color, according to investigators.

Officials urge anyone with information to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201- 915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip on the Hudson County Prosecutor’s official website. Officials say all information will be kept confidential.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
