HARTFORD COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Angela Marie Santiago, of Springfield Massachusetts, has been identified as the Chicopee police officer killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash in Hartford County, Connecticut.
Santiago, 33, was killed while off-duty in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 91 near Windsor.
According to reports, the Chicopee High School school resource officer, was operating a motorcycle on I-91 in Windsor, when the bike wrecked for unexplained reasons.
Santiago began working at the Chicopee Police Department in 2014. She served more than eight years in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
No further details were provided by officials as of Tuesday afternoon.
