ONTARIO COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Aaron Colletti, of Canandaigua, New York, has been identified as the victim in a bicycle-versus-vehicle collision in Ontario County Thursday night.
Colletti, 44, a 21-year veteran of the Rochester Police Department, was killed in an off-duty bicycle collision involving a vehicle Thursday night near Canandaigua.
According to reports, Colletti was operating a bicycle along with his teenage son on Woolhouse Road in Canandaigua, when he was struck by a pickup truck, operated by 70-year-old Canandaigua resident James Miller, around 8 p.m. Thursday.
Colletti was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
His son, who was also involved in the collision, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Colletti is survived by his wife, and four children.
