KANE COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Moira Simpson, of Naperville, Illinois, has been identified as the victim in a fatal three-vehicle crash involving a big-rig in Kane County Tuesday morning.
Simpson, 60, was killed Tuesday morning head-on multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck near St. Charles.
According to officials, Simpson was operating a vehicle in the 400 block of Kirk Rd in Geneva, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The vehicle then came into contact another vehicle and head-on contact with an 18-wheeler around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Simpson was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver and passenger in the other involved vehicle were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was treated by paramedics and released at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
