SAN ANTONIO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Mariana Campos-Jimenez has been identified as the wrong-way driver in a Saturday morning crash that killed a man in San Antonio.
Campos-Jimenez, 20, was allegedly driving the wrong-way while intoxicated when she struck another vehicle head-on on the Northside of San Antonio early Saturday morning.
According to reports, Campos-Jimenez was operating a vehicle the wrong-way on Texas Loop 1604 near Lockhill Selma Rd, when she collided head-on with an SUV around 2 a.m. Saturday.
The driver of the SUV, who has not been identified by officials, was pronounced dead on arrival to an area hospital.
Campos-Jimenez was taken into custody with unknown injuries. She is facing a charge of intoxicated manslaughter. Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the deadly crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
