LEE COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Nelson Luis Garrido, of Cape Coral, Florida, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle overnight in Lee County.
Garrido, 36, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Cape Coral early Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Garrido was lying on Skyline Boulevard when he was fatally struck by a Toyota Avalon around midnight Tuesday. He was found suffering from mortal injuries around 65 feet from the initial hit.
The driver of the car, who remained on scene, was uninjured in the incident.
Garrido was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
