LYNCHBURG, VA. (THECOUNT) — Lynchburg Police are on the on the scene of an active shooting situation at the Birchwood Apartments complex in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Police in tactical gear arrived at the complex on Langhorne Road near Birchwood Drive around 5:30 p.m.
Police issued a shelter in place and advised people to avoid the area saying it is an “extremely dangerous,” situation.
Witnesses in the area said they saw officers in tactical gear and a SWAT truck and also heard shots being fired.
