CLINTON TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Jodi Renee Dewald, of Tiffin, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash in Clinton Township on Tuesday afternoon.

Dewald, 52, was killed and three others serious injured, in a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash Tuesday afternoon in Seneca County.

According to reports, a Jaguar X-Type, operated by Tiffin resident Kristopher Ward, 27, was traveling on 73 East Township Road in Tiffin, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 12 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then made contact with a Pontiac Grand Prix operated by Fremont resident Thomas Ferguson.

The Grand Prix then exited the roadway before making contact with a substantial tree.

Ward reportedly fled the scene and was arrested a short time later after being transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries. His charges were not provided.

Dewald was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Two other Grand Prix passengers, James Chaffee, 29, and Tasha Brock, 33, both of Tiffin, suffered incapacitating injuries and were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition.

Ferguson also suffered unknown injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
