CUMBERLAND COUNTY, ME. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Thompson, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle submersion crash in Cumberland County Monday morning.
Thompson, 19, was found deceased inside a submerged vehicle in a marsh area in Scarborough on Monday morning.
According to officials, Thompson was likely operating a vehicle on Pine Point Road near the Eastern Trail in Scarborough, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle rolled over and entered the water.
The vehicle was discovered around 10 a.m. Monday.
Thompson, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
