SMITH COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — James Dean Murphy, of Lindale, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Thursday night motorcycle crash in Smith County.
Murphy, 61, was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night near Lindale.
According to authorities, Andrew Wayne Slemp, 37 of Mineola, was operating a Jeep Grand Cherokee on State Highway 110 near Mack Thompson Rd, when he failed to yield the right of way to Murphy’s Harley Davidson around 9 p.m. Thursday.
Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
