SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Sheila Hernandez of Wellford, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday morning vehicle crash in Spartanburg.
Hernandez, 26, full name, Sheila A. Hernandez Jimenez, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Spartanburg Easter morning.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Hernandez was operating a vehicle on Nazareth Road near Irby Road in Spartanburg, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 5 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Hernandez, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
