NEW HAVEN COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Calvin Keith Walton, of Waterbury, Connecticut, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash Friday night in New Haven County.
“Keith” Walton, 50, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near Waterbury Friday evening.
According to reports, Walton was operating a Lexus on I-84 on Friday around 5:30 p.m., when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway near exit 21. The vehicle then made contact with a guardrail and a concrete barrier.
The vehicle then burst into flames.
Walton was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of blunt force and thermal injuries.
Two passengers in the vehicle, Danny Williams, 63, and Sevic Walton, 37, suffered minor injuries in the violent crash.
Troopers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact 203-267-2200.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
