TX Amazon Prime Truck Fatally Strikes 2 Women In Houston Friday Morning

HOUSTON, TX. (THECOUNT) — Two woman who had exited their vehicles following a multi-vehicle Interstate 45 crash, where fatally struck by an Amazon Prime tractor-trailer Friday morning near Houston.

Two women died in the Friday morning crash that injured two young children and an adult male in Houston early Friday morning.

According to reports, a Lincoln Navigator towing a trailer pulled over to the shoulder after getting a flat tire. The occupants of that vehicle contained a father, mother and two young children. At some point, a woman operating a Mazda crashed into the trailer of the disabled Navigator that was stopped on I-45 at the Rankin Rd overpass.

An adult male operating a passing Chevy Silverado was forced to take evasive action to avoid the initial crash and in the process wrecked. He then exited his vehicle.

The mother and female Mazda driver, who had also exited their vehicles, were then fatally struck by a passing Amazon Prime big-rig around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

The Silverado driver was forced to jump off the overpass in an effort to avoid the truck.

The man operating the Suburban landed at least 10 to 15 feet below, and was transported to an hospital with serious injuries. He reportedly was able to call 911 to report the incident.

The 1-year-old and a 3-year-old children and their father survived the crash and were transported to area hospitals.

Authorities say slick roads may have contributed to the Silverado wrecking.

The condition of the Amazon driver was not provided.

No charges are expected to be filed at this point.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
