OH Man Rashaan Davis Arrested Over Youtube Rap Video Defying COVID-19 ‘Stay At Home’ Order

CINCINNATI, OH. (THECOUNT) — Rashaan Davis has been identified as the Cincinnati man arrested Saturday after narrating a rap Youtube video showing a group of people defying the city’s “stay at home” order.

Davis, 25, was arrested after he was depicted in a YouTube video featuring a large gathering in the Over-the-Rhine area of the city on Friday night.

“This is how we do it in my city, man,” Davis says in the video. “We don’t give a f*** about this coronavirus.”

Ohio Gov. Mike Dewine recently issued a “stay-at-home,” order.

Davis was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with a misdemeanor, according to police records.

Via LancasterEagleGazette:

Videos of Friday’s crowd surfaced Saturday morning, depicting groups not following social distancing rules. People can be seen in the videos standing on cars and dancing to music.

Police documents state Davis not only violated the order issued by the Director of Health for the State of Ohio requiring all persons to stay at home except while engaging in essential activities – he also encouraged others to violate the order.

Police referenced a YouTube video in the documents.

In the video, Davis narrates a video showing himself and others dancing in the street.

He was accused of “causing even greater risk of contamination during this national health crisis,” according to documents.

The video has garnered over 175K views as of Sunday morning.

Documents state police requested a high bond for Davis.
