WALKER COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Martha Caroline Edwards, of Tallassee, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Walker County Thursday afternoon.
Edwards, 53, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Carbon Hill late afternoon Thursday.
According to reports, Edwards was operating a Ford Explorer in the area of Marlin Jordan Road near Jasper around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway.
The vehicle then rolled over before coming into contact with a substantial tree.
Edwards was pronounced dead on the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
