SEVERN, MD. (THECOUNT) — Peggie Chapman, of Severn, Maryland, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash late Monday afternoon.
‘P-Liz’ Chapman, 33, was killed and four-year-old passenger seriously injured, in a single-vehicle crash in Severn on Monday.
According to reports, Chapman was operating a Kia Forte near Town Center Boulevard and Charter Oaks Boulevard in Severn, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then made contact with a curb causing it to strike a substantial tree around 4 p.m. Monday.
Chapman was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma. Her four-year-old passenger was transported to an area hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Speed does not appear to have contributed to this crash. Drug and alcohol use are pending toxicology results.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
