FORD COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Tammy Sue Carter, of Ensign, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal head-on vehicle crash in Ford County Friday afternoon.
Carter, 52, was killed in a Friday afternoon head-on crash involving a big-rig near Richland.
According to reports, Carter was operating a Kia Sedona on U.S. 56 & McArtor Road in Richland, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 2:30 Friday. The vehicle then came into contact with a Western Star semi-truck operated by 37-year-old Jefferson Lionel Waker, of Garden City.
Carter was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Walker was not injured in the violent collision.
According to the crash report, Carter was not wearing a seatbelt.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
