YAZOO COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Betty Diane Brister of Benton, Mississippi, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Tuesday morning vehicle crash in Yazoo County.
Brister, 59, was killed Tuesday after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 16 in Yazoo County.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, officers responded to calls of a vehicle crash around at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday near the Big Black River.
Reports say, Brister was operating a Nissan Maxima when the vehicle came into contact with a Chevrolet Silverado.
Brister, who wearing her seatbelt at the time, was pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the violent wreck.
The male driver of the Silverado was not wearing his seatbelt and transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center with unknown injuries, reports WLBT.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
