DAVIDSON COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — The wife of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church of Lexington pastor, Rev. Edwin Chriscoe, Callie, has been identified as the victim involved in a fatal vehicle crash in Davidson County Thursday night.
Callie McDowell Chriscoe, 83, was killed in a three-vehicle crash near Cotton Grove Thursday. A passenger was injured in the crash along with an unidentified child.
According to reports, Callie was operating a Honda SUV on NC-8 in Cotton Grove around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The Honda then made contact with a Ford Van, operated by 36-year-old Jason McKinley Heitman, of Lexington. An adult and a child were traveling as passengers.
The third vehicle involved struck debris from the initial crash.
The three people in the Ford were transported to an area hospital.
Callie was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The extent of the other victim’s injuries was not provided by officials as of Friday morning.
Edwin has served as Pastor of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church since 2001.
