KANSAS CITY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Five people were shot, one fatally, after an SUV opened fire on people walking along Mill Street in Kansas City, Missouri Saturday morning.

In all, five people were injured in the Westport neighborhood early Saturday morning. One of those shot has died.

According to officials, a white SUV was seen by police “actively shooting” at people on Mill Street in Westport.

An officer returned fire at the SUV involved.

KMBC reports that one man died and two were left in critical condition. Another victim was listed in stable condition and a woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they have one person in custody. Those involved have not yet been identified.
