MACON, GA. (THECOUNT) — Lake William Greene III, of Macon, Georgia, has been identified as the suspect who fatally shot himself following a Thursday night police standoff.

Greene, 45, killed himself as SWAT membered entered a Macon home following a three hour standoff over a stalking warrant.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, officers arrived at 2980 Markingham Dr in Macon GA, to serve a warrant in reference to two aggravated stalking incidents on Markingham Drive in Macon Thursday night.

Deputies say, Greene then barricaded himself inside his home and refused to come out.

Negotiators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office were then notified and came out to speak with Greene, according to the release. Greene declined all communication with negotiators and continued to refuse to come out of his home, reports WGXA.

After three hours of attempted negotiations, the Swat Team reportedly entered the home and Greene then fatally shot himself.

Deputies say no one else was inside of the home during this incident. No other injuries are being reported.
