EDGEFIELD COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Stanley Quimby, of Graniteville, SC, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck in an apparent hit-and-run collision in Edgefield County Thursday.
Quimby, 59, was found dead laying off the side of Sweetwater Road, in North Augusta, Thursday morning.
According to reports, Quimby was on-foot in the area of Sweetwater Road, in North Augusta, when he was struck by a vehicle. The unidentified driver then fled the scene.
Police say they do not know the make or model of the vehicle but say it is possible gray and could have damage to the right front and passenger side, reports WRDW.
