FAYETTE COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Miranda Huseman of, Republic, PA, and Daniel A. Guthrie, of New Salem, PA, have been identified as the victims in a single-vehicle crash in Fayette County early Saturday.
Huseman, 27, and Guthrie, 32, were both killed Saturday morning around 2 a.m. in a single-vehicle crash near Redstone Township.

According to officials, Huseman was operating a Honda Fit on Filbert Orient Road in New Salem, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Officials noted “significant speed,” as a possible factor in the double-fatal crash.
The car scraped against a wall that runs alongside the road and then hit a tree, causing “massive destruction” and ejecting Ms. Huseman, said officials.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene of massive blunt force trauma injuries.
Neither victim wore a seatbelt, reports Post-Gazette.
The relationship between the victims is unclear.
Redstone police say the investigation into the cause of the crash remains open.
