MARION COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Rashard Baker, of Gainesville, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle-versus-vehicle collision Sunday night in Marion County.

Baker, 28, died while riding on a motorcycle in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 involving a pickup truck pulling a trailer Sunday night.

According to reports, Baker was operating a motorcycle south on Interstate 75 Sunday when he made contact with the rear of a trailer being pulled by the pickup truck.

Baker was ejected from the bike during the collision.

After the initial crash, another southbound vehicle hit Baker’s motorcycle then veered into a median and crashed into a guardrail, the report said. A third vehicle also hit the motorcycle while it was in the road, reports ClickOnOrlando.

Baker was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

No one else was injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
