JERSEY COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Christian Cazier, of Jerseyville, Illinois, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor near Mississippi, Illinois on Tuesday.
Cazier, 19, was killed in vehicle crash around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on US-67 near The Apple House store in Jerseyville.
According to reports, Cazier was operating a vehicle on US-67 near Kristie Lane, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and collided head-on with an 18-wheeler on Tuesday afternoon.
Cazier was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is handling the ongoing investigation, reports KMOV.
The condition of the truck driver was not provided.
No further information on the deadly incident was provided by officials as of Wednesday morning.
