SAINT LOUIS COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Troy Kennedy, of Steelville, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday night Interstate 44 crash near Valley Park.
Kennedy, 28, was killed in a crash on I-44 near Route 141 in St. Louis County Friday night.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kennedy was operating a Chevrolet Silverado SUV on I-44 near MO-144, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7 p.m. Friday.
The vehicle then rolled over multiple times after Kennedy attempted to overcorrect.
Kennedy was ejected from the Silverado during the violent wreck.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
It is unknown if Kennedy was wearing a seatbelt.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
