PA Father Edward Williams Arrested ‘Faked Home Invasion’ After 4-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead Thursday In Philly Home

PHILADELPHIA, PA. (THECOUNT) — Edward Williams has been identified as the father who claimed his 4-year-old son was fatally shot in a home invasion robbery on Thursday. Police have since said Edwards made the story up.

Williams, 28, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after police determined that the boy apparently shot himself with a gun he found in the Philadelphia home.

Williams is also charged with child endangerment and numerous other counts. His bail was set at $2 million, and it’s unknown if he’s retained an attorney, reports TV2.

The officers were met by the boy’s father, who was on the ground floor and holding another child. The wounded boy was found in an upstairs room, but he was unresponsive and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, reported ASNN.

Williams told police he and the children were in the house when robbers invaded their home.

In fact, authorities say, Williams was apparently sleeping when the shooting occurred, and it’s believed the child found the gun in a bedroom closet.

Edwards’ wife was apparently at work when the deadly incident occurred.

LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — Ozzy Osbourne said during an interview with Good Morning America, that he doesn’t think he’ll be alive “that much longer.”

The singer, accompanied by his family, talked about his recent health battle, saying he spent all of 2019 laying in bed.

“[I spent the year] lying on the f***ing bed feeling sorry for myself, going, ‘I’m dead, I’m finished, it’s all over’. This has been the worst f***ing year of my life.

The interview is one of the first since Ozzy Osbourne revealed his fight against Parkinson’s Disease – a neurological disorder that affects movement and motor coordination. Now, it sounds like Ozzy believes differently.

Ozzy admitted that he isn’t very happy with life, noting the lack of his health and his continued struggles with different illnesses/injuries.

“But I’m still here. In fact, I worried about [death] more when I was younger than I do now. I just try to enjoy things as much as possible, even though that’s so f–king hard sometimes.”

His tour is set to resume sometime this summer, but it remains to be seen if he will keep the same stops and dates as originally planned.

ABC News Reporter Who Flubbed Horror Kobe Crash Details ‘Suspended’

CALABASAS, CA. (THECOUNT) — We admit it, we had to admit it, we ran with a story after seeing major news outlet ABC News attached. Big mistake and we spent much of the day retracting and groveling on social media.

ABC News has suspended correspondent Matt Gutman after he incorrectly reported that four of Kobe Bryant’s children were aboard a helicopter that crashed on Sunday, killing all on board.

In the hours after Sunday’s helicopter crash, Gutman — the network’s chief national correspondent — said on air that Bryant and all four of his daughters were killed in the crash. However, only Bryant and one of his daughters — 13-year-old Gianna — were on the helicopter. Ouch.

Gutman issued a correction in a later report and acknowledged the error on Twitter.

Multiple national news outlets, including us, confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the network had suspended Gutman.

“Reporting the facts accurately is the cornerstone of our journalism,” an ABC News said in a statement to The Los Angeles Times. “As he acknowledged on Sunday, Matt Gutman’s initial reporting was not accurate and failed to meet our editorial standards,” reports WKBW.

Gutman also issued an apology in a statement to E! News.

“We are in the business of holding people accountable,” he said. “And I hold myself accountable for a terrible mistake, which I deeply regret.”

Gutman and ABC News weren’t the only outlet to face criticism for their coverage of Bryant’s death. Law enforcement officials blasted TMZ Sunday evening for breaking the news of Bryant’s death before law enforcement officials could notify next of kin.

Gutman is the second ABC News correspondent to face suspension for an inaccurate report in recent years. In 2017, Brian Ross incorrectly reported that President Donald Trump had directly ordered former national security advisor Michael Flynn to contact Russia during the 2016 election. Ross has since left the network.
