SPRING LAKE, NC. (THECOUNT) — Spring Lake Fire Department firefighter, Corbin Rogers, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash while on his way home from training on Friday, officials said.

Rogers, whose age was not provided, was killed in a vehicle crash in which details are very limited as of Friday night.

Corbin had been with the department for five months and was attending a ladder training class earlier in the day in Spring Lake, officials said. The wreck happened in Moore County around 5 p.m. on N.C. Highway 690, which is Vass Road, reports CBS17.

“Our hearts go out to Corbin’s family and we ask that you keep them and his fellow Spring Lake firefighters in your thoughts and prayers,” Williams said in a news release.

“While traveling home from the training, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident and died from his injuries,” the news release said.

The news release did not say where, when or how the crash happened.
