BALCONES HEIGHTS, SAN ANTONIO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Michael Wayne Curbow, of San Antonio, Texas, has been identified as the person of interest after an elderly woman was found by police beaten to death in her Balcones Heights apartment.

Curbow, 55, is sought by police after police responded to a welfare check just after 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Spanish Keys Apartments on the 1100 block of Babcock Road in San Antonio.

When police arrived, they found the unidentified 76-year-old woman unresponsive and beaten to death in the kitchen of her apartment, reports News4SanAntonio.

Earlier in the evening, police were called to the same apartment after the victim wanted a relative removed from the property, but they were not there when police arrived.

A cause of death was not provided.

Police have identified her son, Curbow, as a person of interest.
