MUNCIE, IN. (THECOUNT) — Thomas Bennie Pinkston, of Muncie, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a two-vehicle crash near Selma in southeastern Delaware County Thursday night.

Pinkston, 51, was killed Thursday evening crash involving a big-rig on U.S. 35 in southeastern Delaware County.

According to reports, the fatal crash occurred in the 11700 block of South U.S. 35, near the unincorporated community of Mount Pleasant Thursday evening around 7:40 p.m.

Details of the crash are limited at this time, but reports say first responders arrived on scene to find a semi-tractor and a vehicle involved in a crash. A man was reportedly trapped in the wreckage.

Pinkston, the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jeff Stanley, chief deputy for the sheriff’s department, said its crash team and a chaplain were sent to the scene, reports TheStarPress.

Delaware County Coroner Rick Howell said an autopsy would be conducted Friday at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
