SUMMERDALE, AL. (THECOUNT) — Pearly Mae Mason, the innocent woman who was involved in a high-speed police pursuit crash in Summerdale, Alabama Wednesday, has passed away from her injuries.

Mason, 66, who was hospitalized in Mobile in critical condition following the crash Wednesday, has died from her injuries, Summerdale Police Chief Kevin Brock said Friday morning.

Thomas Reese Norton was fleeing police when he came into contact with Mason’s vehicle at the intersection of Underwood Rd and CR-55, aka, Hayneville Rd, in Summerdale.

Reports say, 29-year-old Norton ran through a stop sign, colliding into Mason’s vehicle.

Norton was arrested Wednesday and faces multiple charges in Summerdale along with warrants for burglary and rape in Mississippi, reports FOX10.
