OWINGS MILLS, MD. (THECOUNT) — Gamel Antonio Brown has been identified as the victim in a fatal in-custody death in Owings Mills, Maryland Tuesday night.

Baltimore County police are investigating after Brown, 30, died suddenly while in custody.

According to officials, police responded to a home on Gwynnswood Road in Owings Mills on reports of an injured individual around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers arrived they attempted to provide aid to Brown when he became violent towards first responders.

Brown’s demeanor changed suddenly and he became volatile and extremely combative with the officers at which point an officer’s Taser was deployed.

Brown was transported to an area hospital where he later went into cardiac arrest and was later pronounced deceased, reports WBAL.

The death remains under investigation.
