LAWTON, OK. (THECOUNT) –Longtime Lawton Police Department officer, C.H. Brazzel, died in a Monday morning single-vehicle crash while off-duty in eastern Comanche County, Oklahoma. He was 70.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Brazzel was operating a vehicle on SE 165th near Woodlawn Road in Lawton, when he was killed in a single-vehicle crash.
Police say, Brazzel was traveling in a pickup truck pulling a trailer, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerline and exited the roadway on SE 165th 11 a.m. Monday morning. The vehicle then made contact with a fence before coming to a rest against some trees.
Brazzel served as a member of the Lawton Police Department since the 1970s, reports KSWO.
OHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the wreck.
