DAYTONA BEACH, FL. (THECOUNT) — Jeffrey John Schusky of Ormond Beach, FL, has been identified as the victim killed at a Daytona Beach motel Saturday night.

Schusky, 34, died at the Happy Holiday Motel in Dayton Beach Saturday in what authorities are calling a “suspicious death.”

According to the manager of the motel, Schusky banged on his door around 11 p.m. while complaining of injuries. When the manager opened the door, he found Schusky bleeding and crawling on the ground.

Two officers and paramedics arrived within minutes, finding Schusky unresponsive and lying on the ground with a knife next to his body, reports COBD.

Attempts to revive Schusky at the scene were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death is set for today (January 19) at the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Schusky was renting a room at the motel located at, 1617 North Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach, FL.

A motive behind the death is unknown.
