LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Dakota Blake Buttrey, of Florence, Alabama, has been identified as the victim killed in a single-vehicle crash near Lauderdale on Friday afternoon.
Buttrey, 22, was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on CR-8 in Lauderdale.
According to Alabama State Troopers, Buttrey was operating a Kia Soul on CR-8 near Natchez Trace Parkway, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Buttrey was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
No further details of the crash were provided by officials as of Friday night.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, reports WAFF.
