Rocky Johnson, WWE Hall Of Famer wrestler and father of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has passed away. He was 75.
Johnson, who had a successful career in the NWA where he won the National Wrestling Alliance Georgia Championship and NWA Southern Heavyweight Memphis Championship, has died, say multiple reports.
Johnson joined WWE in 1982 and along with his partner Tony Atlas, they became the first black tag team to win the World Tag Team championships in WWE history.
The news of Johnson’s death was first reported by The Cauliflower Alley Club on Twitter:
“Horrible news to pass along. We just learned that Rocky Johnson passed away today at the age of 75. His accolades in this business, all the people he influenced, all his accomplishments, and we are so deeply sorry and wish his family nothing but the most love at this time”
