WASHINGTON PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Nathan E. Polk, of Bogalusa, LA, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash in Washington Parish, Louisiana Monday morning.
Polk, 21, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on LA-16, near LA-1073 in Washington Parish on Monday.
According to officials, Polk was operating a Chevrolet Silverado on LA-16, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree before coming to a rest around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Polk was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Impairment is suspected.
As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were collected for analysis, reports WGNO.
Polk was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
