LITTLE ROCK, AR. (THECOUNT) — Clint McCollum, of Germantown, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash on Interstate 40 near Little Rock Tuesday.
McCollum, 19, died in a crash early Tuesday on I-40 in east Arkansas, state police reported.
McCollum was operating a Jeep Wrangler west on the interstate in St. Francis County, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The vehicle then entered a culvert which caused it to go airborne and roll over.
McCollum was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Westbound lanes on the highway were blocked while authorities responded to the crash. The state Department of Transportation tweeted at 1:24 a.m. that lanes had been reopened, reports KATV.
State police said conditions were clear and dry when the crash happened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
