Man Fleeing Police Takes Hostages At Houston Business SWAT Scrambling Thursday Evening

HOUSTON, TX. (THECOUNT) — A suspect wanted by police is holding people hostage Thursday at a houston business Thursday, according to Houston police.

According to officials, a suspect was evading police when he entered a business and held several people against their will Thursday evening.

Police say, around 4:40 p.m., officials with the Houston Police Department said the wanted man was barricaded inside a business in the 9000 block of Westheimer Road near Fondren Road.

Police said the man is possibly holding two people against their will at the business.

SWAT and hostage negotiators were heading to the scene to try to resolve the situation peacefully.

People are being asked to avoid the area while the situation unfolds.
