INDIANAPOLIS, IN. (THECOUNT) — Cindy Darlene Evans of Indianapolis, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash involving an IndyGo bus Wednesday.
Evans, 54, died in a vehicle crash with an Indianapolis city bus on Wednesday afternoon, according to reports.
Two other victims were hospitalized in the crash that occurred on the city’s near east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
According to officials, IMPD officers responded to reports of a vehicle crash near the intersection of East Michigan Street and North Davidson Street. When police arrived they found a vehicle that had collided with a city bus.
Occupants of the car were found to be an adult female and a young child. Both were transported to a nearby hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. The young child is currently listed in stable condition, reports TheIndyChannel.
An occupant of the IndyGo bus was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, according to Grace Sibley, IMPD Public Information Officer.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
