ADAMS COUNTY, WA. (THECOUNT) — Jessica Cody, of Lind, WA, has been identified as the woman killed in a wrong-way crash near Lind on Sunday night. The wrong-way driver, Ramona Gonzales, of Spokane, was also killed in the crash that injured several children.
In all, two people died and five others were injured following the head-on crash near Lind-Ritzville Middle School in Adams County on Sunday.
Washington State Patrol says, Gonzales, 57, was operating a vehicle the wrong-way on SR-395 at around 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening when she collided into the vehicle Cody was traveling as a passenger.
Jeremiah “Jay” Cody, 34, and four children were transported to area hospitals to be treated for unknown injures.
Gonzales, and “Jess” Cody, 36, a passenger in the second car were both pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
