LIMERICK, ME. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Camacho has been identified as the teenager fatally shot in a police-involved shooting in Limerick, Maine on Friday.

Camacho, 16, died after being involved an an officer-involved shooting in Limerick on Friday. Officer Robert Carr has been identified as the officer involved.

Camacho died from a single gunshot wound, according to the state medical examiner.

The Maine Attorney General’s office released his identity on Monday, reported WMTW.

Deputy Sheriff Robert Carr responded to a robbery in progress at the Dollar General store in Limerick and “engaged in an armed confrontation” with Camacho, according to York County Sheriff Bill King.

Camacho was threatening an employee at gunpoint, King said.

As is standard procedure with the use of deadly force, the state Attorney General’s office has joined the investigation.

Carr is on administrative leave, pending the investigation.
