LOGAN COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Edmond, OK couple, Douglass Barnes and his wife, Suzanne Casper Barnes, have been identified as the victims in a fatal vehicle crash near Edmond Wednesday night.
Douglass, 70, and “Suzy”, 54, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Logan County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. 83-year-old Madeleine J. Walker was also killed in the crash.
According to reports, the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Broadway & Simmons Road in Edmond, OK, after driver Joseph Sauer, for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. Sauer’s vehicle then collided head-on with an SUV.
Sauer was ejected from his vehicle and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, according to KOCO.
Three people in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
According to social media, Suzy was a Loan Operations Manager at The First State Bank.
