PHENIX CITY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Delewis Antwan Collier has been identified as the suspect sought by police over the fatal Christmas night shooting of Smiths Station man, 36-year-old Sidney Jones.

Collier, 37, is accused of shooting Smith multiple times Wednesday night at AJ’s Bar and Grill, located at 1700 U.S. Hwy. 280, Phenix City, AL, at approximately 11:36 p.m. on Dec. 25.

Officers found Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:34 a.m. on December 26.

Collier has been named as a person of interest in the dealy incident. He is possibly driving a white Mercedes Benz with Alabama tag 57CZ413.

Jones’ body is being sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, reports WTVM.
