FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, PA. (THECOUNT) — Ben Patrick Welch, of Canton, PA, has been identified as the victim in a fatal overnight crash on State Route 414, according to Tuesday reports.
Welch, 28, dead early Tuesday in a vehicle crash involving a pickup truck in Bradford County, PA.
According to the coroner, Welch died while operating Subaru Sedan after, for unknown reasons, the vehicle drove into oncoming traffic on Route 414.
Welch’s vehicle then collided head-on with a Ford F-350 Extended Cab truck being operated by a Michael Erick Hamilton, age 40, of Waynesburg, PA.
Welch was pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Hamilton received minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Routine toxicology studies are being performed by the Bradford County Coroner’s Office on Welch, reports WNEP.
The accident is under investigation by both the Pennsylvania State Police and Bradford County Coroner’s Office.
