An infant, believed to belong to Broussard, was found alive. The vehicle was found registered to a friend of Broussard’s who was questioned earlier in the missing persons investigation, reports CrimeOnline.

The search for missing the Austin mother and newborn, Margot Carey, had investigators searching a house near Houston on Thursday, one week after the two were reported missing.

According to reports, a member of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department said officials discovered a 1-month-old baby in home in a Jersey Village area of Houston around 11 p.m. Thursday.

The baby was transported to a hospital and had no obvious signs of injury. The baby’s identity was not released.

Broussard was last seen with her daughter almost 4 weeks old, when she dropped her son at an elementary school around 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 12th, the Austin Police Department said.

Investigators believe Broussard returned home with her baby before they both disappeared. They were reported missing around 7:30 p.m. that same day, reports FOX8.

KTRK said officers and agents from the Texas Rangers, Department of Public Safety, FBI, and the Austin Police Department were taking part in the high profile investigation.

None of the investigators commented on the case or would confirm if the body and baby were the two reported missing from Austin.
