PERRY TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — James A. Whitt, of Massillon, Ohio, has been identified as the victim killed in a Sunday night Canton, Ohio crash, according to officials.
Whitt, 35, was killed Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash on Tuscarawas Street W near Perry Drive.
Whitt was operating a GMC Sonoma pickup east on Tuscarawas, also called state Route 172, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway.
The vehicle then struck a fence, rolled over before coming to a rest after coming into contact with a utility pole.
Whitt was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The crash remained under investigation on Monday, reports indeonline.
