HOPKINS COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — Jason Attebury, one of Hopkins County, Kentucky’s most wanted criminals, has been apprehended late Tuesday night, according to officials.

Attebury, 43, was wanted on several charges including kidnapping, assault and wanton endangerment. The charges involved a family member, according to records. A family member also aided police in the capture of Attebury late Tuesday night.

Authorities say they learned Attebury was at a home on Beeny Road near Manitou Tuesday night, but, they also knew he wasn’t alone.

Sources say once Attebury fell asleep, the relative was able to walk to a deputy who removed that person from the area, reports 14NEWS.

Authorities then used a PA system to communicate with Attebury who then surrendered peacefully.

Attebury was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
